This morning I have electric power & so have been able to receive your message again, which I perceive to be this: Since we have eaten of the forbidden fruit, we have likely experienced selfishness & overindulgence to some degree, being focused on ourselves and perhaps caring less about others, but when we suffer loss, we can be grateful because loss helps us realize what we have had. Through misfortune we can reflect on what's really important and appreciate what we have before it's gone and perhaps be more willing to give.

Janis, I think there is truth in your take. Even more importantly, because of God's promise to us given in Jesus, we don't have to be afraid of any ending or loss. When our end arrives and the time of judgment is at hand, the one who judges us is the one who has already promised us forgiveness, life, and salvation. Rather than hiding from judgment, we can stand confidently, because we know that the final verdict to us will be this "My child, my chosen beloved, in whom I delight."


In that confidence, we don't ever have to hide, and we don't have to focus on ourselves, we can simply live and enjoy what God has given, and act…
