Thank you for such a lovely prelude of music & beautiful décor, which set the stage for this Pentecost. "Coloring outside of the Lines" was really fun. The harmony of the Gathering Hymn was wonderful and the postlude was amazingly executed. I also thought the delivery of the Livestream was great & I enjoyed having the bulletin too.

Being careful about what we think we hear as the Word of the Holy Spirit reminds me of fraudulent calls. I think the Holy Spirit has a message for us all as individuals to improve our own actions & thoughts and if we ever think we hear a message or directive to criticize others or in any way be unkind, we shoul…

Janis, I really like the analogy of fraudulent calls! I may steal that in teaching sometime.


Something I think back to is what Jesus calls the two greatest commandments: Love God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength. And love your neighbor as yourself. The Holy Spirit would never guide me to do something against those commandments. Sometimes that might mean criticizing someone's actions for their own good, or for the good of others they are hurting. But I have to be careful, because it's pretty easy for me as a sinner to actually do something to serve my own interests or make me feel good while pretending to "lovingly criticize" another.
